This recipe is for making frosting for two different cakes, so does not need to be doubled -it is already. The idea behind this was that sometimes I am making two different cakes for a party and one is chocolate and the other is not. This makes it handy to make the base and then split in half to make both vanilla (or another flavor) and chocolate.

Ingredients
Buttercream Base
8sticksUnsalted buttersoftened
12cupsPowdered sugar(1.5 32 oz bags)
¾cup`heavy cream
8tspvanilla extract
1tspsalt(unless you substituted salted butter, then none is needed)
Chocolate Additives
1cupunsweetened cocoa
3-4tbspheavy cream
Instructions
In a very large bowl, beat the base ingredients together on medium speed until smooth and creamy. Do not over-whip.
Divide recipe into two separate bowls.
If making chocolate recipe, add the cocoa powder and some extra heavy cream and remix.
